Chime’s daily ATM withdrawal limit is $500. Withdrawals are free at any of 60,000+ Allpoint and MoneyPass network ATMs; out-of-network withdrawals cost $2.50 each. Chime has no proprietary ATM network — its fee-free access comes entirely through the Allpoint and MoneyPass partnerships.

Chime’s Free ATM Network: 60,000+ Locations
Chime partners with two major nationwide networks:
- Allpoint: 40,000+ ATMs in the US, located at CVS, Walgreens, Target, Costco, 7-Eleven, Circle K, and many bank branches
- MoneyPass: 20,000+ ATMs at Walmart, Kroger, Safeway, Dollar Bank, and grocery stores nationwide
Find a free Chime ATM:
- Tap the ATM icon in the Chime app’s home screen
- Search at allpointnetwork.com
- Use the ATM locator on any MoneyPass partner’s website
The $500 Daily Limit: What It Covers
The $500 daily limit applies to ATM cash withdrawals only. It does not apply to:
- Debit card purchases (purchase limit is separate — typically $2,500/day)
- Cashback at point of sale (does not count toward ATM limit)
- Pay Anyone transfers
- ACH bank transfers
Getting more than $500 in cash per day:
- Cashback at checkout — up to $500 in cashback at many retailers (Walmart, Kroger, etc.) is separate from the ATM limit
- SpotMe covers up to $200 in ATM withdrawals even if your balance is low, but doesn’t increase the $500 cap
Out-of-Network ATM Fees
For ATMs outside the Allpoint/MoneyPass network:
| Fee Component | Amount |
|---|---|
| Chime’s out-of-network fee | $2.50 |
| ATM operator surcharge (typical) | $2.50–$4.00 |
| Total typical cost | $5.00–$6.50 |
Chime does not reimburse the ATM operator’s surcharge — unlike Schwab, Ally, or USAA Performance Checking which offer unlimited reimbursement. For frequent out-of-network withdrawals, the $2.50 fee accumulates quickly.
Chime ATM Limits vs Other Neobanks
| Bank | Daily ATM Limit | Free ATMs | Out-of-Network Reimbursement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chime | $500 | 60,000+ | None |
| SoFi | $500 | 55,000+ (Allpoint) | None |
| Ally | $1,000 | 43,000+ (Allpoint) | $10/month |
| Varo | $500 | 55,000+ | None |
| Current | $500 | 40,000+ | None |
| Charles Schwab | $1,000 | Unlimited worldwide | Unlimited |
Chime’s $500 limit is in line with other neobanks but lower than traditional banks and significantly lower than Schwab’s unlimited reimbursement model. For members who need more cash flexibility, pairing Chime with a Schwab Investor Checking account is a common travel strategy.
International ATM Use with Chime
Chime debit cards work internationally at ATMs on the Visa network:
- Foreign transaction fee: $0
- Out-of-network ATM fee: $2.50 applies internationally
- Currency conversion: Uses the Visa network exchange rate (typically within 1% of market rate)
- International ATM operator surcharges: Not reimbursed
For international travel, the $500/day limit and $2.50 fee per withdrawal (plus any local surcharge) make Chime workable but not ideal. Consider carrying a Schwab or Fidelity card as a backup for unlimited fee-free ATM access worldwide.
