Chime’s routing number is either 031101279 (The Bancorp Bank) or 103100195 (Stride Bank, N.A.), depending on which banking partner holds your account. Since Chime is a fintech company — not a bank — all deposits are held by one of these two FDIC-insured bank partners. To find your exact routing number, check the Chime mobile app under Account Info.

Chime Routing Numbers at a Glance

Banking Partner Routing Number FDIC Charter
The Bancorp Bank 031101279 Yes
Stride Bank, N.A. 103100195 Yes

Both routing numbers are valid for ACH direct deposits and bank-to-bank transfers. Neither supports wire transfers — Chime does not offer incoming or outgoing wires.

How to Find Your Chime Routing Number

  1. Open the Chime app
  2. Tap your Spending Account balance at the top
  3. Tap the three-dot menu or “Account Info”

Setting Up Direct Deposit to Chime

To add Chime as your direct deposit account:

  1. Provide your employer or payer:
    • Routing number: 031101279 or 103100195 (check your app)
    • Account number: Your unique Chime account number
    • Account type: Checking
  2. Chime often credits direct deposits up to 2 business days early
  3. Enable SpotMe (up to $200 fee-free overdraft) after your first qualifying direct deposit

For government payments (IRS, SSA, VA): The same routing and account numbers work. IRS refunds and SSA payments via ACH direct deposit are fully supported.

Chime Account Number Format

Chime account numbers are typically 9–12 digits. They are different from your Chime debit card number. Never share your full account number publicly — use it only on trusted direct deposit forms or bank linking screens.

Why No Wire Transfers?

Chime is built for ACH-based banking. Wire transfers require:

  • A SWIFT code (Chime has none)
  • Bank-level wire infrastructure (Chime routes through The Bancorp or Stride Bank, which do handle wires but not via Chime’s consumer interface)

For funds that must arrive via wire, you need to receive them at a traditional bank and then ACH-transfer to Chime. This adds 1–3 business days.
